Great Central Railway gets first refusal on proposed shed site.

Excellent news! After two years of careful and patient negotiations with our very supportive local authority, Charnwood Borough Council, the railway has been informed it has first refusal on the proposed shed site – Loughborough’s former refuse tip (adjacent to Allsopps Lane).
The first refusal lasts for a period of three years. There isn’t a moment to lose!

DISMANTLING UNDERWAY!

Contractors moved onto the site of Workington's derelict shed in mid-March to begin the task of carefully dismantling it. Over the next two months, men from a specialist firm based in Nottinghamshire will reduce the shed to a pile of reusable components. It will then be transported two hundred miles south to a secure storage site at the Great Central in Leicestershire.
